• Nit prevention spray - doTERRA

Have you received this note home from school before? The dreaded nit note!! Next step is to check your child’s hair and with your fingers crossed really hope you don’t find any of those nasty critters or their eggs in your child’s hair.

Luckily in our household we are always on the front foot as we use a nit prevention spray every morning which is easily made at home! It’s so simple and only requires three ingredients.

Use a glass spray bottle and put the following:

    - 100 mls of water

    - 20 drops of doTerra tea tree oil

    - 12 drops of doTerra lavender oil,

    then shake.

That’s it, so easy! Just spray around the hair line of your child’s hair every morning. Check for sensitivity with these oils prior to use.

We also use and recommend doTERRA oils, these can be purchased at wholesale prices here: https://www.mydoterra.com/destinationgreen/.

  • Simple bathroom air freshener - with essential oils

We just love making our own household toiletries and cleaning products. This week we decided to make some air freshener for the bathroom. It's so simple and all it takes are some doTERRA oils, water and baking soda.

    We used the following:

    - one cup of water

    - half a teaspoon of baking soda

    - 8 drops of lemon doTERRA essential oil

    - 8 drops of lime doTERRA essential oil

    - 8 drops of wild orange doTERRA essential oils

Just mix the oils together with the baking powder in a tiny bowl. Then use a funnel to wash (with the water) the oil and baking soda into the funnel and into your glass spray bottle.

  • Home-made hand soap - cheap, simple and kind on your skin - only three ingredients!

Have you ever read the ingredients on the back of a hand soap bottle? YUCK, so many nasty chemicals - we have recently made the switch to our own home-made hand soap - its SO SO simple, cheaper and there are no nasty chemicals on our skin anymore, I wish we made the switch sooner.

So simple its just 3 ingredients - Liquid Castile Soap (one part), cooled boiled water (four parts) and a doTERRA essential oil (we used doTERRA tea tree oil- 10-20 drops) in a foamy soap dispenser (approx. $3 from a good soap supplier shop) - pour everything into the foamy soap dispenser put lid on and shake. You are now ready to use your new soap which is also anti-bacterial!

We bought our Liquid Castile Soap and foamy soap dispensers from Aussie Soap Supplies and head over to our doTERRA page to buy your essential oils at wholesale prices (www.mydoterra.com/destinationgreen). • Home-made sticker remover - only three ingredients

This is a great little simple recipe to make home-made sticker remover. It gets rid of those sticky labels or the residue left when you try and remove a label or sticker.

Its so simple: just half a cup of coconut oil, half a cup of baking soda - mix this together, once combined add 8 drops of dōTERRA lemon essential oil (https://www.mydoterra.com/destinationgreen).

To use this just paint it on the sticky label and leave for 15 minutes then remove. Wipe the surface clean with a damp cloth, if there is still some residue left just run under warm water and you should see the label has gone now.

All finished! No more gunk and mess left when you remove labels and stickers.
